Growing Kind Hearts: Our World Kindness Day Acts at the 1st Primary School of Gargaliani
This year, the 1st Primary School of Gargaliani celebrated World Kindness Day with a series of creative and heart-warming activities designed to inspire empathy, connection and positivity among our students. Small acts can create a big impact.
π 1. Brainstorming Kindness Through a Digital Word Cloud
We began by inviting students to reflect on what kindness means to them. Using a digital tool, each class created a vibrant word cloud filled with words such as helping, sharing, respect, and friendship. These beautiful visuals captured the spirit of the week perfectly.
π¬ 2. Compliment Sticky Notes
Our classrooms brightened as students exchanged compliment sticky notes. Children wrote thoughtful messages to one another, spreading encouragement, gratitude, and positivity across the school.
π¨ 3. Lipstick Hearts of Kindness
To express kindness creatively, students drew lipstick hearts on their hands like temporary tattoos. These small symbols of love and care became a fun, meaningful way for students to “wear kindness” throughout the day, reminding themselves and others to spread positivity with every gesture.
π¬ 4. Movie Time: The Invisible Boy
Students watched the touching film The Invisible Boy, a story that highlights empathy and inclusion. After the film, classes discussed ways we can ensure that no one around us ever feels unseen or left out.
πΎ 5. Kindness to Animals
Students learned simple ways to show care and responsibility toward animals, emphasizing compassion and respect for all living creatures.
πΈ 6. Kindness to Flowers
Classes also explored how kindness extends to nature, by caring for plants and treating the environment gently and responsibly.
π️ 7. “Proud of You” Tickets
To conclude the week, I surprised students with “Proud of You” tickets—small certificates recognizing kindness and positive behavior. These tokens celebrated our students’ contributions to the Kindness Week campaign and encouraged them to continue their acts of kindness every day.
At the 1st Primary School of Gargaliani, we believe that kindness is a habit. Through engaging activities like these, we empower our students to build a school culture where everyone feels valued, supported and included.
